2026 New Year’s Message

We hope that Jin Sei Ryū Karate-Dō members, their families, and our supporters around the world have had a happy, relaxing and safe New Year.

As we begin 2026, I have chosen a simple guiding theme for Jin Sei Ryū Karate-Dō International:

伝道守心
Den Dō Shu Shin
Transmit the Way. Preserve the Spirit.

This can also be expressed in Japanese as:
道を守り、心を守る
Michi o mamori, kokoro o mamoru.

This theme is a continuation of what I observed in our senior black belts as last year progressed: a willingness not only to train and teach, but to step forward with greater leadership, responsibility, and service.

Progress matters. Growth is necessary. But not everything should be changed, optimised, or reinvented.

Some things must be preserved:
– the essence of our practice,
– the values behind our approach, and
– the intent behind our actions.

True transmission is not about copying techniques or throwing words around. It is about embodying what truly matters, so that the path we walk continues with integrity.

In the year ahead, may we train, teach, and live in a way that preserves the essence of Jin Sei Ryū Karate-Dō, while protecting the heart and spirit it represents.

Wishing everyone a year of clarity, reflection, and purposeful action.
